Alchemy Recruitment is currently working alongside a successful natural energy resource provider who is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer/Manager to assist them at their open cut coal mine in the Mackay Coal Fields.

DUTIES REQUIRED IN THIS ROLE:

• Plan, coordinate and prepare project deliverables required to initiate, develop and execute assigned projects related to surface CHPP mining  infrastructure and equipment 
• Manage the design, procurement through to execution of projects
• Engage with stakeholders to investigate requirements, obtain inputs, identify risks and understand the context
• Contribute to the portfolio and team delivery strategies
• Undertake project related duties as defined by Portfolio Lead
• Through external and internal partners define and produce scopes of work and deliverables in line with project management processes
• Be part of a high performing team, constantly improving and pushing the boundaries in technology, processes and value-driving initiatives

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

• A minimum of 5-10 years experience delivering projects within a brownfield coal mining environment, ideally CHPP 
• Sound understanding of the Front-End Loading processes
• A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering preferred or Project Management.
• Strong background and proven track record in projects,
• Strong project documentation skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• The ability to manage the engineering design process and prepare project deliverables including; scope of work, specifications, execution plans, cost estimates and schedule
• Previous experience working in a matrix functional organization is highly desirable
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be critical to success.

In return, you can expect:
This is an ongoing contract position with a leading owner side that will be based in the Mackay Coal Fields on an 5/2 roster with WFH flexibility, DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane. There is a generous hourly rate along with, camp accommodation. Reporting to the Portfolio Lead this position will deliver projects (<20M USD) in a CHPP & Equipment Portfolio.
