About the company:

We are proud to be partnering with a major player in the global coal industry in their search for a Mining Engineer to join a large, open-cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin on an 8/6 roster. 

About the role:

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you provide technical expertise of short and medium term mine planning services and support to front line supervisors.

• Producing robust mine designs for fleets of shovels, excavators, draglines, dozers and drill & blast.
• Ensure all equipment and frontline supervisors have up-to-date dig and dump plans.
• Ensure design process is followed for all designs and ensure design amendments to suit operational requirements and are communicated to Mining Team.
• Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks.
• Interacting with a large range of stakeholders to ensure success
• Being a role model for safety on site.

Role Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in the mining engineering discipline
• Experience with Vulcan, Deswik or other mine design software is highly desirable
• High level communication, influencing and negotiation skills
• A commitment to the best practice of health, safety environment and community at all times
